Are McDonalds Happy Meals Safe?
Well I don't know about you but if it doesn't rot, mold and bugs won't eat it, Id say "Heck No"!
July 30, 2012 my husband and I bought this Happy Meal. We ordered the nuggets and the cheeseburger. I wanted to see for myself how gross it would get. What was interesting was that APPLES didn't even turn brown after 3 days! Last time I bit into a fresh apple, it turned brown pretty quickly. Someone said the apples were sprayed with lemon juice and that keeps them from turning brown. So I bought an apple from the store, and sprayed it with lemon juice. It still turned brow, So I don't know what the heck they spray on these apples to keep them looking fresh, but it WORKS!
On to the meat and bread. After literally no change in the food in three days I decided to manipulate the process a bit and speed it up. So, I put the plate outside on my back lanai. Now, keep in mind we live in Tampa, Florida, and its AUGUST..one of the MOST HUMID, WET, BUGGY and STICKY months of our year. After a WEEK outside, still no mold, no decay, no ants and no roaches. Nothing.
The bread didn't gat even the slightest bit fuzzy, much less mold over.
After about a month we grew bored. We moved the plate to my husbands car lot as a conversation piece. I actually forgot about it until today when a customer was eating her McDonalds was asking about it and how many HOURS had it been out. So I figured I'd circle back and share what it looks like after SEVEN MONTHS!
I ate this stuff regularly up until a couple years ago. But I made a choice one day that I was going to be much more mindful of the chemicals I was feeding to myself and my family. To me, health isn't about daily calories or the type of diet plan you choose, its about reducing chemicals. Seriously, if you question what you can feed your baby, or your children or yourself when it comes to healthy food choices, why are you NOT questioning fast food that you feed your children weekly. I feel like its impossible to eliminate everything, but if you are aware of the extent to which you are delivering poison to you cells, you hopefully may become more mindful of the small choices you make.
