Chocolate Banana Nutty Treats - Healthy Snack Recipe

Chocolate Banana Nutty Treats: 4 teaspoons all natural peanut butter (Smuckers All Natural is great!) 1 banana cut into 12 equal slices 2 ounces dark or semisweet chocolate, melted 2 tablespoons finely chopped unsalted dry roasted peanuts (or your favorite nuts, coarsely chopped) 4 6-8 inch wooden skewers (optional)

Line baking sheet with waxed paper; set aside. Spoon ½ teaspoon peanut butter onto each of 8 banana slices. Place half of the peanut butter-topped banana slices on the remaining half of the peanut butter-topped slices to make 4 stacks of 2 banana slices with peanut butter between and peanut butter on top. Place one of the remaining banana slices on top of each stack. Push skewer all the way through the center of each banana stack. Place melted chocolate in shallow bowl. Place finely chopped peanuts in another shallow bowl. Roll each banana stack in the melted chocolate. A metal spatula helps to spread the chocolate into a thin, even layer over the banana stacks. Place stacks on prepared baking sheet. Freeze banana pops about 30 minutes or until firm. Serve straight from the freezer.

Another fun and easy recipe! Even though this took no time at all to make, waiting 30 minutes was a tough one for my three year old, Reagan! To pass the time he played tag in the yard with his sisters. We came in hot from the Florida heat, hungry and ready for something cool. It was the perfect snack to replenish all of our energy!
